Exsys Web Site Concierge WINK System
This is a Corvid WINK (What I Need to Know) system that will build a custom web page of information on Exsys products based on the visitor's interests. This advanced sysem demonstrates using Adobe Flash as the user interface for a Corvid system, and dynamically geneating a customized web page that can be bookmarked and saved. |

Caribbean Vacation Advisor
This system selects the best Caribbean islands for someone to visit based on what activities are most important to them on their vacation. The system uses the Corvid Inference Engine and MetaBlocks to probabilistically rank the user’s priorities compared to the activities available on each island. The islands with the best overall fit are recommended. Each recommended island is described with the Pro and Cons based on their particular interests. This system uses an Adobe Flash user interface. |

Applet Support System
This help desk support system assists users whose browser is not configured correctly to run applets. It can diagnose and correct problems in MS Windows, Macintosh OSX and Linux operating systems and many common web browsers. It demonstrates how even somewhat complex tech support issues can be handled via a Corvid sysetm. This system runs via the Corvid Servlet Runtime. |

Immigration and Naturalization Service
This system assists companies in selecting the correct INS visa category when hiring foreign employees. It was developed by EXSYS Inc. for the Small Business Administrations working with the INS. Using information on the type of position being filled and employee requirements, it recommends various possible visa categories that could be applied for. These are displayed in a table, allowing comparison of various options. |

Find Out Which Dog Breed is Best for You
Find the ideal dog breed for you based on a variety of factors including personal preferences and life style. This demo shows how a complex selection with many factors can be handled using the probabilistic weighting factors in a Corvid metablocks. It illustrates asking multiple questions on the same screen and using graphics in the Results to show each selected breed. Clicking on the image of the dog opens a new Web page that calls Google to search for various sites related to the breed. |

Environmental Compliance Self Appraisal
One of the top manufacturing companies in the world uses interactive expert systems to assist in achieving compliance with ISO 14001 standards. The system produces a detailed report on the status of a facility and determines if it meets the required level of compliance. Necessary actions can then be taken before any type of formal audit. |

Camcorder Selector This example provides advice on which camcorder is best you. It replicates an interaction you would have with an experienced sales person who is very knowledgeable about product features and different uses of camcorders. This system uses CORVID's unique Metablocks to separate product data from system logic. The data on the camcorders is kept in an easily updated spreadsheet. New models of camcorders can be added to the system simply be adding them to the spreadsheet. |

International Assignment Profile This is an example of a system used in determining if an employee and the employee's family will be successful in taking on an assignment which will relocate them in Jakarta, Indonesia. IAP Systems developed this system specifically to aid managers, HR executives, EAP/EAC counselors, and other businesses in planning with a family for a successful foreign assignment. Specifically, the IAP assists in anticipating stresses, strains, or difficulties that might detract from an employee's business success on an assignment, and a supporting family's adjustment to and potential enrichment from the assignment. |

Albuquerque Restaurant Recommender
Need to impress a client, or just in the mood for a really great steak? This example recommends restaurants based on occasion, atmosphere, & food preferences - it even considers whether they're open or closed for the day. It also uses information on the purpose of the dinner to decide what restaurant characteristics would be preferred for the event. This is combined with CORVID's Metablocks to select the most appropriate restaurant based on the criteria set. |

Restaurant Recommender as a Web "Banner"
This is the same system as above but displays in a "banner" format. A convenient "Concierge" which would be very popular and on many types of Web sites. Instead of offering a click-away tease, why not offer customized expert advice on a top-level page that can then link to the most appropriate information based on the system results? This shows how in the space of a simple banner ad, a fully functional expert system can be used to qualify customers and display only recommendations appropriate to their specific interests. |

This system advises on the best marathon race to enter, based on your running preferences. It also illustrates the use of animated GIFs in system design, and linking from the recommended races to the associated race Web site. |

Identifying Holes in Paper
This system was developed at a large paper manufacturing plant. It will diagnose the causes of various types of holes in the paper produced. The system asks a variety of questions on the type and location of the hole, and about machine characteristics that can be easily seen by the operator. |
